Dr. Craig Hamilton
Dr. Hamilton fulfilled his undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada Reno and his doctorate at Southern California College of Optometry. Along with Dr. Kohorst, he serves as the team optometrist for UNLV Athletics and the Las Vegas Aviators professional baseball team. They also work with numerous high school and professional athletes in golf, tennis, baseball, ice hockey, and football, having completed extensive coursework in these areas. Dr. Hamilton has authored several articles for sports and optometric magazines.
Dr. Hamilton has also served as an expert witness on standards of optometric and contact lens care, glaucoma detection, and practice evaluation. He has been a clinical investigator and lecturer on extended wear soft and gas permeable contact lenses, toric and bifocal soft contact lenses, myopia reduction research, and has participated in regional LASIK FDA research and approval panels. |
Craig has held numerous leadership roles, including serving on the Eagle Scout Board of Review of Southern Nevada and as chairman of the Lions Club Sight Conservation Committee. He is a previous member of the Las Vegas Rotary Club and past president of the Southern Nevada Optometric Association. He was also on the Board of Trustees for the Southern California College of Optometry and remains active in professional associations. Additionally, he served as past president of the Junior Golf Association of Southern Nevada. Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Kohorst have trained Clark County school nurses and volunteered for student vision screenings in local schools.
Dr. Keith A. Kohorst
Originally from Ohio, Dr. Kohorst relocated to Las Vegas on a full football scholarship at UNLV. He later earned his doctorate degree from the Southern California College of Optometry before joining our practice.
Dr. Kohorst and Dr. Hamilton serve as the team optometrists for UNLV Athletics and regularly volunteer for vision screenings with high school and amateur teams. They have also collaborated with the Las Vegas Thunder hockey team and the Las Vegas Aviators professional baseball team. Keith is active in all aspects of youth and high school sports, including coaching and organizational management. He is a past president of the Rotary Club, and is a member of the Lion’s Club. Drs Keith Kohorst and Craig Hamilton are proud members of the UNLV Athletics Hall of Fame. |
